Newport Township,PA in Luzerne County former 1972 American LaFrance engine 2. This 1972 American LaFrance was onced owned by the Nanticoke City fire department it was their engine 1. But when they upgraded they sold it to the Newport Township fire department where it served for many years. Once the engine started having lots of mechanical problems. The department upgraded the engine with a 2008 Ford F-250 along with a trailer. The engine was donated to the Luzerne County Community College to be used for fire fighter training where it is still serving today in 2024.
