Brooklawn Fire Company Conducts Cascade 344 Training Drill
Brooklawn, NJ - On August 25, 2026, in Camden County, members of the Brooklawn Fire Company conducted a training drill focused on the operation of Cascade 344, the department’s high-pressure air replenishment system used for SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) cylinders.
During the drill, firefighters reviewed the setup, operation, and safety procedures associated with the cascade system, which is used to refill breathing air cylinders required for operations in hazardous and oxygen-deficient environments. Emphasis was placed on proper handling techniques and maintaining operational safety during air replenishment.
Crews also highlighted the importance of the cascade unit as a critical regional resource, noting its frequent deployment for mutual aid assignments due to the limited availability of similar systems within Camden County.
