Transmission Lines Down Prompt Two Lick Drive Closure

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 31, at around 1:37 p.m., the Indiana Fire Association responded to a report of downed transmission power lines on Two Lick Drive, which is located immediately west of the substation.

To safeguard drivers and pedestrians from the electrical threat, firefighters secured the area and blocked the route. Later, Penelec employes showed up and took charge of the situation so that repairs could be securely finished.

Residents were advised by the agency to stay well away from fallen electrical wires and to never presume that a downed wire is de-energized. It is important to report any downed electrical line to emergency officials and treat it as active.
