During the weekend of July 17–19, the Indiana Fire Association responded to seven service requests when thunderstorms passed thru the region.

A gas leak at Valvoline in Southtowne Plaza, an unintentional fire alarm at the Hilton Garden Inn, and several fire alarm activations at a manufacturing plant were among the calls received on Friday. On Saturday, workers responded to a suspected brine tank fire at Creekside and utility lines down on South 4th Street, where Penelec was alerted. After the gas supply was cut off at the wellhead, the fire was put out.

On Sunday, workers went back to Creekside to investigate a collision involving two cars on Fulton Run Road. One car needed to be towed after the collision, which resulted in minor damage. Before going back into service, crews addressed traffic control.
