PLYMPTON, MA - On July 28th at 4:00 P.M., Plympton Fire Chief Stephen Silva completed a career in public safety that spanned over 40 years. Chief Silva started as a Firefighter/Paramedic at the Kingston FD, worked for Boston Medflight, owned his own ambulance service (Exodus Ambulance), worked as a Middleborough Fire Lieutenant, and completed his career as Fire Chief of the Plympton FD. Chief Silva secured over $1 Million in grants during his time with the department, and led the Fire Department through the Covid-19 pandemic. The goal of the fire service is to leave it a little better than you found it, and Chief Silva completed that task above and beyond the call of duty.
