Canton, GA - The Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services is hosting its annual Explorer Academy at the county fire training complex, providing young participants with an immersive introduction to the fire service.

Explorers are training in essential disciplines including structure fire control, search and rescue, forcible entry, ventilation, and technical rescue. Guided by experienced advisors, participants gain hands-on experience while developing the foundational skills required for future service.

Explorer Post 469 offers high school students the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute within a service-driven environment. Through consistent training and mentorship, the program helps prepare the next generation of firefighters while strengthening the department’s commitment to community engagement and professional development.
