Bay Shore FES Squad Conducts Vehicle Rescue Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On June 26th, members of the Bay Shore FD finished their monthly training, which focused on vehicle rescue operations. Senior squad members conducted a practical extrication exercise using HURST E-Series hydraulic rescue tools after reviewing rescue situations that firefighters might encounter in Bay Shore and the Village of Brightwaters. Firefighters reinforced procedures used in complex car rescues by practicing tunneling under a four-door automobile involved in a simulated collision with a commercial trailer.
