Garfield Basement fire
Photo by Damien DanisOn July 17th at approximately 2:00 A.M., the Garfield FD was dispatched to 48 Commerce St. for reports of a structure fire. First arriving companies and chiefs were met with moderate smoke coming out of the structure. A general alarm was struck by Chief of Dept. Tani and the working fire assignment was filled out, which brought companies from Wallington and Saddle Brook to the scene. Members were able to knock down the fire very quickly, which was located in the basement of the house.
