Westminster recently placed their new 2026 KME Severe Service 1500/1000 pumper into service as Engine 2. This new apparatus is much smaller than its predecessor, a 2001 KME Excel that carried 2,500 gallons of water on twin rear axles. The new pumper is solid red, matching the forestry and tanker vehicles that went into service in 2024, as the department continues to transition away from white roofs.
