In July, the Old Lyme Fire Department announced the passing of Past Chief Arthur "Skip" Beebe. Beebe was regarded as a revered mentor who helped generations of firefighters, welcomed new members, and offered his expertise. In addition to serving in the fire department, he made contributions to the Old Lyme Historical Society, where he was recognized for years of voluntary work that preserved the area's heritage.
