Gibsonia, Pa. — June 22 — Jacob Wiegand was acknowledged by West Deer Volunteer Fire Company #3, situated at 4418 Gibsonia Rd., for obtaining both his Pennsylvania and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certifications from the Center for Emergency Medicine. The achievement came after a great deal of classroom learning, practical skill training, clinical experience, and passing the National Registry exam.

In addition to preparing EMTs to deliver prehospital emergency treatment in a range of circumstances, National Registry certification is a crucial step toward state licensing. Wiegand's accomplishment, according to department officials, enhanced the organization's emergency medical response capabilities and demonstrated the devotion and hard work needed by volunteer EMS professionals serving communities throughout Pennsylvania. Wiegand received congratulations from the department for accomplishing this significant career milestone.
