PATTON, PA — July 2 —Members of Patton Fire Company No. 1 performed a nighttime training session in Prince Gallitzin State Park, using the summer weather to boost apparatus operations and rural water delivery skills.
During the practice, department engineers got driving experience behind the wheel of the Rescue Engine and Tower while practicing vehicle positioning and apparatus operation. Firefighters also placed hose lines and practiced drafting water directly from the lake, a crucial technique for supplying water during incidents in locations without hydrants.
