Elwyn "Bud" Eaton, the longtime past chief of Chenango Fire Co., passed away on June 26th. Eaton dedicated decades to the fire department, supporting community safety, emergency response, and firefighter training while holding senior positions. He was a well-liked mentor who helped the department grow over many years by imparting his knowledge to newer colleagues. His unwavering leadership, loyalty to the fire service, and commitment to public service were recalled by fellow firefighters throughout Broome County.
