After more than 24 years of service, Lieutenant/Paramedic Chris J. Hamilton retired from the Salem Fire Department. Hamilton became a firefighter/paramedic in 1999 after joining the department in 1998. He served with the Manchester FD for a while before coming back to Salem to continue helping the locals. In 2010, he received a promotion to Lieutenant/Paramedic. Prior to entering the fire department, Hamilton was a Flight Medic in the US Army for eight years, rising to the rank of Specialist. Members of the department acknowledged his contributions to public safety, leadership, and emergency services.
