Endicott, N.Y. — June 17 — Following his death, Chief Ricke Casterlin was honored by the West Corners Fire Department for his years of service and leadership in the fire service. Throughout his tenure, Casterlin—known to many as Chief 44—served as an officer, mentor, and committed fireman who supported training and emergency operations. Members of the department observed that his dedication to assisting others and mentoring fellow firemen had a long-lasting effect on the company.

The department, which is based at 500 Day Hollow Road, sent its sympathies to Casterlin's friends, family, and fellow firefighters. His contributions to the department and community will be remembered for years to come, according to members.
