EAST HADDAM, CT — June 2nd — Ryan Solovei, a firefighter with the East Haddam Fire Department, has finished his senior probationary period. Solovei started out in the fire department as a junior fireman and has quickly reached a number of significant milestones. He gained Firefighter I and Firefighter II qualifications, as well as EMT certification, after completing the Connecticut Fire Academy's Basic and Advanced Cadet Programs.

In addition, he was selected as a Department Engineer, obtained a Q endorsement, and was twice voted Junior Firefighter of the Year. Chief Brian J. Auld urged Solovei to keep learning throughout his fire service career and praised his dedication to training.
