Deep River Firefighters Conducted Fire Boat Training Drill

DEEP RIVER, CT. — June 10th — Deep River Fire Department members took part in a fire boat training exercise intended to rehearse techniques and acquaint staff with using the department's fireboat. Vessel handling, safety protocols, navigation, and equipment familiarization were the main topics of discussion. As they learned the duties of staffing and running the boat during emergency responses, seasoned members collaborated with firemen.


Frequent water operations training ensures safe, efficient responses when necessary and keeps departments prepared for incidents on nearby waterways. According to department officials, the exercise strengthened the abilities required for water rescue operations and marine firefighting in the Deep River region while offering invaluable experience.
