Retired Port Authority Tunnel & Bridge Agent and Lincoln Tunnel Fire Marshal Richard Cravello, 64, passed away in May. He grew up in Union City, chasing the red trucks, and he had a passion for public safety work. Cravello joined the Port Authority in 1980 and retired with the position of Fire Marshal at the Lincoln Tunnel, connecting Manhattan with Weehawken. He worked closely with departments on both sides of the Hudson. In addition, he was a 9-11 first responder. His love to help others extended into his off duty hours. He was a volunteer firefighter in Secaucus and Maywood. At the time of his death, Cravello was an active member of the Rochelle Park V.F.D. for 25-years. He was also an active fire inspector in Ridgefield Park and the Township of Washington in Bergen County. Richard Cravello was a good husband, father, and first responder. He loved doing what he did and will be missed by many.
