Photo by Nicholas LenczykHolmdel FD's first Pierce pumper, Engine 18-77, is a 2021 Pierce Enforcer with 2000-GPM & 750-GWT pump. It replaces a 1992 International/Emergency-One and features an all blacked out design, with the latest in power tools and battery powered equipment. It will be followed by the arrival of a new Pierce Ascendant sometime in late 2022.
HOLMDEL, NJ - On Saturday, April 30th, Holmdel FD Station 2 held a wet down for their new 2021 Pierce Velocity pumper designated Engine 18-77, as well as a new centrally located firehouse on municipal grounds at 12 Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel Township. The event had an excellent turnout by not only many supporting fire companies and members, but also members of the community, the mayor, dignitaries, and families. The new firehouse was designed with latest in technology features, and includes three drive through bays, training facilities, bunk beds, a meeting room, rip and runs, exhaust systems, air systems, cascade, and so forth. Holmdel FD is also situated close to the Garden State Parkway where they frequently respond for MVAs and fires. It is expected to be open and ready for service in early May.
