Air Tankers help make quick work of brush fire

Air Tankers from the Hazleton Tanker Base responded to assist DCNR Forestry, Foster Twp., Freeland and Valley Regional fire departments contain and extinguish a wildland fire in the Upper Lehigh section of Foster Twp. Dry conditions and stiff winds had the fire moving quickly over the mountain ridge. The combined effort had the fire under control within a few hours. Air Tanker 878 flew two 800-gallon sorties and 877 flew one 800-gallon sortie.
