The Wilton Fire Department with the New Canaan Fire Department completed four days of SCBA (air pack) confidence training evolutions, March 13th through the 17th. All four shifts from both departments rotated through the Connecticut Fire Academy SCBA trailer (staged at St. Luke's School in New Canaan) in full turnout gear and air packs, working through low profile, low air and entanglement scenarios. Wilton and New Canaan respond to many fires together as part of written mutual aid compacts. As such, this joint training event, although difficult logistically, was worth the effort.
