Slatington- This 1,400 pound fire bell was made in 1891 by the McShane Bell Foundry of Baltimore, MD. The bell was housed at the Slatington Hose Company at Fourth and Church Sts., where it alerted the town's three volunteer fire companies for emergencies. This alarm system with its F Sharp tone was used for more then fifty years. In1985, the bell was refurbished by McShane and is now on display near the Fireman's statue in the center of the town.
