Sierra Madre CA. A on a Sunny and slightly warm but rather pleasant early March Saturday morning, Sierra Madre Fire Chief Brent Bartlett accompanied by Members of the Sierra Madre Fire Dept were joined by the citizens of Sierra Madre and its elected representatives to witness the wet down and traditional pushing of the department’s new 2021 Pierce Enforcer Fire Engine.
The engine was financed in part thanks to a large donation from an anonymous community donor. Totaling $100,000 The new Pierce Type 1 Fire engine which comes on a Pierce enforcer cab, Fire Chief Bartlett thanked the Mayor and City Council and community for its continued support of the Fire Department and invited both past and present Sierra Madre Fire Personnel to assist with the pushing in of the new engine.
Specifications include, TAK 4 Asle front suspension rated at 19,500LBS, Rear Suspension Meritor Axle rated at 27,000LBS, 505 Horsepower Detroit diesel engine, Allison 5th general 4000 EVS Transmission, Hale QMak single stage pump with a 500 gallon water tank and 30 gallon class A foam tank.
The department’s current 1999 Emergency One Pumper will be placed out of service and sent to auction the current frontline KME Engine will go into reserve status.
