A fast-moving fire gutted a North Arlington home on the afternoon of March 4th. The fire began on the first-floor and quickly spread to the second-floor and attic of the two-and-a-half-story, wood-frame home at 551 Schuyler Avenue at Noel Drive. Work apparently was being done on the home when the fire broke out, responders said. Mutual aid from Lyndhurst, East Rutherford, Rutherford and Kearny assisted on the scene. The blaze was knocked down in 30 minutes. No injuries were reported, and the cause is being investigated.
