North Hudson Deputy Chief Mike Falco
Photo by RON JEFFERSOn the morning of February 23rd, North Hudson Deputy Chief Mike Falco, 3rd from left, walked out of the 29th Street firehouse for the last time after a 40-plus-year career. He started out with the former North Bergen Fire Department before the regional department was organized in 1999. D.C. Falco was the last of the chief officers to retire, that was a chief in one of the five former departments before the NHRF&R began. The mild manner, well respected chief received a gift, that noted his history on the two departments, from his Group 3 chief officers and members of the department that lined the street to honor him. He was always concerned for the safety and training of the members, and he said that good firefighters make the boss look good.
