Two former Lancaster County, PA pieces spotted

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Recently, two former Lancaster County pieces were spotted working non fire department gigs. First, the Penryn Fire Company at one time operated this 1978 Mack/Heil (750/4000) as Tanker 28 until it was replaced in 2008. It appears after serving as Tanker 28 it was utilized by a farm in Whitehall, MD until a few years ago when it made it's way to another farm in Lancaster County.

The second piece spotted is a 1979 Chevy Cube Van with unique colors that easily showed that at one time had served as an air-type unit for the Ronks Fire Company. It was purchased by the company in 1980 and was custom built by the members to serve as the air unit for Ronks and the surrounding area. It served until 2001 when it was replaced and purchased as a transport van for the Lancaster Scuba Center where it appears to have been sitting idle for some time.

Special thanks to B. Anderson for the historical notes on both pieces.
