I run volunteer recruitment and retention campaigns for approx 50 fire companies through my company, The Communication Solutions Group. About half are located throughout NJ. We received the Pepperpot Award from the Public Relations Society of America for helping Ringing Hill Fire Company recruit 29 new volunteers in one year. I have also run winning referendum campaigns in NJ for fire departments that, prior to my work on their public awareness campaign, could not get their budgets approved by voters. The most recent winning campaign was in Feb in Freehold Twp. I have spoken on recruitment strategies at state and regional conferences in both PA and NJ. I have written for Fire Engineering, EMS World and the Pennsylvania Firemen.
