VEHICLES FROM UNION AND BERGEN COUNTIES
This month we visit some Union County and Bergen County FD’s. In the photos from Union County we feature a Spartan ER/LTC NXT 110 rear-mount quint from Rahway. It replaces a rear-mount platform quint. Next is a Ferrara pumper from Summit. It is their second Ferrara pumper. They also have a Ferrara platform. Finally from Union Township, we have two Pierce Enforcer apparatus. One is a squad pumper with a 243-inch wheelbase and PUC design. It features a front fixed winch and a portable winch. It also serves as a rescue unit. The other is a stock 107-foot Ascendant mid-mount platform quint replacing a rear-mount quint. Next we go to Bergen County to feature a Braun, Type 1 ambulance from Cresskill. Following that is a Ferrara pumper from Westwood featuring hard suction hose carried on the roof of the cab, and lastly a Pierce Ascendant mid-mount platform quint in Cliffside Park which replaces a rear-mount platform quint.
We have learned that Teaneck (Bergen County) has on order a Sutphen SPH100 platform. Specs include a Monarch chassis, 62-inch cab, Cummins X15, 605 hp diesel engine, Hale Qmax 2000-gpm pump, 8 kw generator, HiViz and FRC lighting and 235-feet of ground ladders.
We have also learned that the Jackson Mills FC in Jackson Township (Ocean County), sold their Engine 5417, a 2000 Freightliner FL80/KME 1250/700/50 attack pumper to the Arrow Fire & Land Management in Arizona. I had photographed it a number of years ago and it is a nice rig.
In dealer news, Blaze Emergency Equipment sold a Life Line Superliner Type III ambulance with 167-inch module to the Atlantic Highlands FAS (Monmouth County). The chassis is a Ford E-450.
Firefighter One has delivered two Ferrara apparatus. The first is a Cinder custom pumper to Arbor Hose FC No. 2 in Piscataway Township (Middlesex County). Specs include an extended cab with six seats, Cummins L9, 450 hp diesel engine, Hale Qmax 2000-gpm pump, 750-gallon poly water tank and extruded aluminum body with a low hose bed. The second is an Inferno HD-77 rear-mount aerial to Newton (Sussex County). Specs include an extended cab with six seats, Cummins X12, 500 hp diesel engine, Waterous CSU 1500-gpm pump, 500-gallon water tank, extruded aluminum body with EZ-Stack hose be and three-section aerial with 500-pound tip load while flowing 1500-gpm. They received an order from the Weymouth VFC in Hamilton Township (Atlantic County) for a Fouts Fire 3000-gallon tanker. Specs include a Freightliner M2-112 chassis with four door cab, Cummins L9, 450 hp diesel engine, Hale MBP 1000-gpm pump, pump and roll capability, poly water tank and electric actuated 10-inch rear dump with 180-degree swivel.
Fire & Safety Services reports the following Pierce deliveries: to West Long Branch (Monmouth County) an Enforcer 107-foot Ascendant ladder; to Hamilton Township (Mercer County) an Enforcer pumper and to Hammonton (Atlantic County), an Enforcer pumper. Quakertown (Hunterdon County) received a Vengeant Sandstorm brush truck on a Ford F-450 chassis. Pierce orders include an Enforcer PUC pumper for Hopewell Township (Cumberland County), a Saber pumper for Westfield (Union County), an Enforcer pumper for Peapack-Gladstone (Somerset County), a Kenworth BXT 3000-gallon stock tanker unit for Tewksbury Township, Oldwick FC (Hunterdon County) and Enforcer pumper for Island Heights (Ocean County) an Enforcer heavy duty rescue for Bordentown Fire District 2 (Burlington County) and an Enforcer 107-foot Ascendant ladder for Jefferson Township (Morris County).
New Jersey Emergency Vehicles has received an order from the Adelphia FC in Howell Township for a a Kenworth T-880 tractor with Hale 1250-gpm pump, custom bumper modification and Whelen lighting ( Monmouth County).
Oceanport H & L FC (Monmouth County) has ordered an E-ONE Typhoon pumper 2000/750 with low hose bed. It will have a Cummins X12 455 hp diesel engine. The Possumtown FC in Piscataway Township (Middlesex County) has received an E-ONE mini pumper on a Ford F model, 4x4 chassis. It has a Hale DSD 1500-gpm pump and 300-gallon water tank. Jersey City (Hudson County) has received a Typhoon pumper for Engine 2.
Last month we reported that Denville (Morris County) received an HME minI pumper on a Ford F-550 4x4 chassis with a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine, Hale DSD 1500-gpm pump and UPF 300-gallon water tank. Emergency Equipment Sales & Service, the dealer has added more information. It has a Buskstop super single upgrade and front bumper winch, a booster reel with 200-feet of hose and two crosslays for 250-feet of 1 ¾-inch hose, 2 ½-inch rear discharge, LDH right side discharge, slide-out trays, tool boards, ladders (14-foot two section, and 8-foot roof and 8-foot folding), two hard sleeves, Sound Off lighting blueprint package and mounting and custom rear console by EESS. Their ambulance division reports the delivery of a Type III Horton remount to the Borough of Magnolia (Camden County) with a Ford E-450 chassis. It has a full Whelen upgraded lighting package and elimination of the original multiplex system, complete repaint and upgrades with a new Stryker system. They were awarded an additional bid for four additional Type III Excellance ambulances for the County of Groucestrer. They have also delivered a Type II Promaster with dealer upgrades to Superior Care in Piscataway Township (Middlesex County) and they have received an order for a Type II Promaster with dealer upgrades and new Stryker system for the Vailsburg Rescue squad in Newark (Essex County).
Campbell Supply has delivered the Spartan ER, S-180 pumper with Metro Star chassis to South Old Bridge (Middlesex County) and they have received an order from the Dorothy FC in Weymouth Township (Atlantic County) for a KME pumper with Freightliner 108SD chassis with four door cab, Hale Qmax 1500-gpm pump and 1250-gallon water tank.
