UNITS FROM MIDDLESEX AND MONMOIUTH COUNTIES
This month we cover units from the two above counties, as they are popular ones to photograph apparatus. In fact, the photos shown this month are simply a select group. There are many more to come in future columns. For Middlesex County, we selected first Perth Amboy with their new MetalCraft Marine fire/rescue boat (Marine 5), which replaces their older one. It is the Firestorm 38 (39-feet in length). It has a 13-foot 3-inch beam, two Cummins QSC, 6.7, 480 hp diesel engines, twin Darley 3,000-gpm pumps which run off of the front of the engines, Hamilton 322 jets, a rear recovery deck, a front manually operated Elkhart monitor, an Elkhart roof monitor and two Elkhart Copperhead monitors aft. Next are two used apparatus. One is Truck 3 (a spare), a 1994 Pierce formerly of Harrington Park in Bergen County, and the other is Engine 4, a 1994 Pierce Lance formerly from Green Township in Sussex County. Perth Amboy currently has new apparatus on order. Also in Middlesex County is South Old Bridge in Old Bridge Township E-22, a Spartan ER, S-180 Metro Star pumper. The next three are in Monmouth County, namely a 2020 Pierce Impel pumper from Keansburg, a 2024 Seagrave 95-foot Aerialscope from Asbury Park, and from Belmar, a 2022 Kenworth T-370 Custom Fire heavy rescue.

We have learned that the Dennis FC in Dennis Township (Cape May County) has purchased their first aerial piece, a 2007 Pierce Enforcer 75-foot, which will become known as Ladder 18. It was sold by Command Fire Apparatus from Pennsylvania, who sells used fire trucks.
While on the subject of Pierce, the Arrow XT and Quantum chassis have been discontinued. Any deliveries we may post from here on would be trucks previously on order.
From Fire & Safety Services, here are the following Pierce orders: for Jackson Township District 1 (Cassville FC, Ocean County) an Enforcer pumper, for Bedminster/Pottersville (Somerset County), a Freightliner 3000-gallon dry side tanker, for Kinnelon (Morris County), an International 3000-gallon tanker, in Bergen County, three units: a Saber pumper for New Milford FC 2, and Enforcer pumper for Saddle Brook and an Enforcer stainless steel pumper for Carlstadt.
