BROCKTON, MASSACHUSETTS (PLYMOUTH COUNTY) - Around 0500 hours on Thursday, November 12, 2020 the Brockton Fire Department responded to 769 N Main Street for a reported building fire. Companies arrived to find smoke showing from a 60x60 commercial building. A working fire was requested, followed shortly by a second alarm.
Conditions deteriorated quickly, with heavy fire taking over the building. All companies were ordered out of the building as the ceiling collapsed and heavy fire shot through the roof. As companies went defensive, a third alarm was ordered. A special call for an additional engine, Whitman Engine-243, was requested to assist with a water supply. Stoughton Engine-4 also worked at the scene, while Easton Ladder-11, West Bridgewater Engine-1, East Bridgewater Engine-2 and Avon Engine-2 provided station coverage.
The State Fire Marshal's Office responded to the scene to assist with investigation. No injuries were reported.
