The Swansea Fire Department will be celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. They are an all volunteer agency operating from four stations with over 100 volunteers under the command of a full time Chief.
The department maintains and operates four front line engines, one ladder, two forestry units, two marine units and a heavy rescue. Two former front line pumpers are kept in ready-reserve status. Emergency Medical Services are provided to the town by a separate agency.
