FIRE TRUCK IS LOCATED IN SAN ANTONIO, TX. This is a 1981 TATRA 815 8x8, that was refurbished in 1993, and converted into a Large Brush Truck. The vehicle is not running at this time, the engine failed and it was decided not to replace the engine due to cost. It has been out of service for approximately 2yrs. The rear body to include the tank and pump could be removed and placed on another large chassis to be used as a firefighting type of vehicle, as the pump motor is completely separate from the vehicle motor and runs fine.

Body The Body was built by Westex Welding Co. in 2010. It features the following: Steel construction 2500 gal baffled poly tank with integrated foam tank. Waterous 500-140DC cross mount compressed air foam unit powered by a John Deere model 4045TF turbocharged, four cylinder, 276 cubic inch displacement diesel engine. FOAMPRO Model 1601 electronic Class A foam system Full-size compartments on the driver side with Storage for a folding tank and hard suction through the rear of the passenger side as well as low compartment storage behind the rear tires. Three Newton electric dump valves. One located on each side and on the rear capable of flowing 1800 gallons of water per minute. Discharges include: 2 - 1” hose reels, 2 - 1” whip lines located at pump area, 2- 2.5” side discharges, 1- 1.5” pre-connect crosslay, 1- 2.5” pre-connect crosslay and 2 – 5” storz intakes. The body and chassis feature a full complement of emergency and scene lighting. Pump can be controlled from inside the cab. Front bumper is fitted with an Elkhart Sidewinder turret and Bumper sweep nozzles.
