Shirley NY- On Saturday October 6, 2018 at about 4:36 PM the Brookhaven Fire Department was activated for a Motor Vehicle accident at the intersection of the Southbound William Floyd Parkway and Havenwood Dr. Lieutenant Brian Dean was the first to arrive on scene and advised he had a 2 vehicle MVA but no one was trapped. He advised he would need EMS for 1 patient who was in a Taxi that was involved in the crash. Dean requested that engine 9 continue in to the scene and have their crew clean up fluids and secure the battery on the taxi. Fire fighters quickly located the battery in the trunk of the taxi and were able to secure it. Speedy dry was needed for a small fluid spill on the ground.
Shirley Community Ambulance transported the driver of the Taxi to a local hospital she had non-life-threatening injuries. Fire Department Units were back in service in under 30 minutes.
